This week’s hotel review leads us to the waterfront on the sandy beaches of another location in West Los Angeles, Santa Monica. Casa Del Mar is quietly situated at the end of a small & tucked away street near the Santa Monica Beach pier. Greeted by the scent of fresh salt water, this hotel is ideal for the traveler seeking rest and relaxation–or relaxation after a long day of work.
■Arrival & Check-In: This hotel is located on a tiny street, but immediately upon arrival I knew this was going to be a pleasant experience when I saw the valet attendants pleasantly waiting to welcome and assist arriving guests. Check in was simple, the staff always greets you by name and are committed to making your check-in process and stay comfortable.
■The Room: From the moment I stepped into my room, there was an immediate sense of peace and calm. The aqua-inspired wall color in coordination with the white linen and beach tones all blend perfectly to create a beach cottage feel.
■The Bathroom: A perfect combination of luxury and relaxation, the bathroom at Casa Del Mar leaves little to be desired. Continuing the beach cottage feel throughout the entire space, the bathroom with window peeking into the bedroom is a warm feature allowing the entire unit to flow and feel connected. The marble-top jacuzzi tub with downspout faucet and rain-style shower head make the time spent getting ready more than enjoyable. There is also a separate bathroom with a cabinet containing soap, razors, etc.
■The Food: The food is fresh. The Caesar salad was delicious as well as the Lobster Club.
